In Human Computer Interaction we were to carry out a heuristic evaluation of a mobile application, and subsequently redesign it using our knowledge of Neilsen’s 10 Heuristics. The application my group chose to evaluate was the Outlook Web App which we used for our student emails – an app which, to this day, annoys me as a user. We carried out the evaluation and wrote a report on our findings. We then used screenshots of the application and Adobe Photoshop to create prototypes of a redesign of the interface.

This is a screenshot of the prototype of the interface after we had redesigned it. Now, when the icon would be pressed, a menu appears. This way the entire email is not obscured, and users can easily minimize the menu.
